Soon it's time! On October 5th, 2024 we will get married where we are both happiest: on the top of a mountain with a (hopefully) breathtaking view. We look forward to celebrating this special day with you.
Location
The award-winning summit building by Herzog & de Meuron blends into the mountain and welcomes visitors with a warm wooden interior and a magnificent view of the Churfirsten at 2262m above sea level. This is where all our festivities will take place. To get to the top there is a bus/train followed by a gondola, which are both included, no need to buy a ticket. We will provide more detailed information here about two weeks before the wedding. Since the journey home from such lofty heights is difficult, we suggest two hotels within walking distance of the valley station. More on this below.

Once you arrive in Unterwasser, we recommend that you check in to the hotel early. This way you still have enough time to eat something and get ready.​
The gondola ride takes about 30 minutes and is an experience in itself. The area is known for its ibex and chamois. You have a good chance of seeing some!
Our wedding begins with an outdoor wedding ceremony on the meadow. If you would like to give a short speech or get involved in some other way (including in the evening), you are welcome to contact our witnesses Aleks and Vanessa.
You're probably hungry by now. Let's have a snack, a drink, chat and enjoy the view together.
In the evening, a varied buffet will be available to cater to every taste. Enjoy the delicious food and then dance, drink, and party!

At some point it will be time for both big and small guests to go to bed. Let the gondola carry you down into the valley. The last ride is at 2 a.m. (that's when our celebration ends).
No matter which hotel you stay in: breakfast is included. This is the perfect opportunity to chat again with the other wedding guests - and with us, of course.
Hotels
We've chosen two hotels in which you are guaranteed to feel comfortable, both with included breakfast: the Hotel Sternen and the Berg & Säntis Lodge. Both hotels are easily reachble on foot from the valley station. We will stay in the Berg & Bett Säntis Lodge, but the Hotel Sternen is only a two minute walk away.
We recommend that you book by the end of April 2024, as the rooms will be reserved until then. Simply mention «Wedding Vanessa and Mihai» in your booking email.
Dress code / Recommendation
Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in. Black is also allowed. Instead of a dress code, we would like to make two recommendations: If the weather permits, the ceremony will take place outside. However, since it's going to be October at 2,262 meters it's going to be cold, so we advise to bring warm clothing (down jacket, hat, scarf). The path from the summit building to the ceremony site takes 10 minutes and is rocky and uneven. There is no actual hiking involved, but be sure to take an extra pair of comfortable shoes with you.
